My baby is here! Beautiful Grace Elizabeth has come into the world and everybody is so happy about it, most of all...ME! She is just the most beautiful thing, though I am quite biased. All my family are in town and still can't stop doting on the baby. She never gets any sleep because all the relatives just come in and wake her up. But it's alright because it means I get a bit of sleep. Wow, I can't believe this feeling is so overwhelming. I never imagined it could be like this.

Though I haven't had a lot of time since Grace was born, I've been trying to start on my new person project, which, if you don't recall, is about finding my old classmates. People have been telling me to try a wikia search, which I've never done before. I don't even know what it is! I'll definitely try it out though if it'll help me find person I'm looking for. Gosh, I don't even want to think about it right now. I just want to spend more time with my baby. I once read that when you become a mother, you just want to spend all your time with your child and every moment you're not with them is a torture more than you can bear. I never knew what it meant until now.

I haven't spoken much about it, but the baby is due any day now and I can't wait! I'm going to write up an eviction notice and send it to the baby through email: resident@myuterus.com. Haha, it's impossible to do obviously but it's still a funny thought right?

So I finished up the family tree a few days ago. It was quite a wonderful experience. Sifting through old photographs, looking at immigration records, reading old newspapers, running a background check...I just can't get over how touching and personal it was. It really made me feel in touch with my family and where I come from and what my baby is going to have as his/her heritage. Very exciting. But now I've got the finding people bug for sure. It's given me a real sense of purpose and belonging. This weekend we were packing up old boxes and I came upon my high school year book. Wow, I can't believe I kept it. I've been feeling pretty nostalgic about it. I think my next project will be tracking down my graduting class by using my usual techniques. If all works out I think I'll write a book, like a guide to finding your old classmates. I could be huge! Well, I am huge right now. Not for much longer though. Hopefully!

It turns out my baby has ancestors who were a Virginia coal miner, an English baker, and a Russian noble. Wow, I had no idea until I used person search to create this family tree. If you haven't done so, I highly encourage you to find a person and start building your family tree. It's a very personal, profound experience. You're not just finding people, you're finding yourself. (Then, take a break and laugh at this rant to HBO regarding Bill Maher.)

Someone dropped me an email to ask what it felt like to be creating a family tree for my soon-to-be-born child. The closest thing I can say is spiritual. This is a people search that feels almost transcendent, because it's so important to me personally. Every time I find people who are relatives that I didn't know I was related to, I feel like I'm communicating with my baby. I can't even imagine what it's like to be adopted, but I think that this experience must be similar to finding your biological parents. Don't get me wrong. At time, it can be rough, so I'm glad someone recommended this site for how to deal with stress.

So I started making that family tree I mentioned in the last post. I started by just making a small tree of everyone that I already knew in my family. Then I did a people records search through a people finder and I've come up with so many hits! People searches are really easy to do on this site, and I've found so many new relatives I'm having a hard time keeping track of them. I'll keep you posted on how this goes - that is if I don't get completely distracted by rants like this one to the economy.

The pregnancy is going well. I can't tell you how amazing it is to know that I have a new life growing inside me. Sometimes, it makes me feel ecstatic. My hubby says it's just the horomones, but I punch him whenever he says that. The whole experience has got me thinking about the circle of life, and all that. Like families and lifecycles. In fact, I'm thinking about using my skills to find people, since I know so many people finder sites to build a family tree. It just seems like finding people and family tree building seems like an appropriate way to prepare for a new baby. So that when he or she is born, I can introduce him or her to all the family I may not have even known. I'll keep you posted how this goes.

Happy Martin Luther King Day, Everybody! I was thinking today about how a few decades ago, this great man fought foolish policies to keep everybody seperate, and here we are today where the most powerful and important piece of technology in our lives--the internet--is designed to keep us connected. Kind of a funny way to think about history, huh? Anyway, even if you're working or whatever today (I'm not! Haha, lucky me!), I hope you'll take a few moments to remember Martin Luther King and all he did for this country and celebrate today in your own special way. And, THEN, maybe after you've spent those moments, how about you spend some time finding people? It's a totally appropriate way to spend the holiday! Building bridges with your past! There's gotta be someone you wanna find person. Or, if not that, then maybe check out this 2008 tax software review? Not to be a bearer of bad news, but tax day sneaks up on you quicker than you think. Enjoy!

Happy Pre-Thanksgiving everyone! Next time this year we'll be celebrating our first Thanksgiving with our little bundle. Speaking of which, I think we've decided to officially NOT find out what gender the baby is prior to its birth. It's a little nerve-wracking, but as we might only have one child, we both decided we wanted to keep the birth... well... as exciting and mysterious as it was for people in the "olden" days. Does that sound weird? I feel a little weird about it when I tell people (and that includes typing it out in a blog), but... well... it's what we've decided and I'm stoked! Other things I'm stoked about include people search private eye. WOW. Have you seen PrivateEye.com? I had been using PublicRecordsNow.com mostly lately, but PrivateEye.com is a whole new site now. They're really stepped up their game. It's so easy to go on there (or Public Records Now for that matter) and find somone. We do it all the time these days... mostly to get phone numbers to call people and tell them about our bun in the oven. :) Oh! Also, I know I've mentioned this site before, but if you have not checked it out yet, you HAVE TO: GiantLists.com - Get Out of A Ticket. Seriously. Go now. For real. I'm going!

I can't believe it, neither of us expected it to happen so soon! Sure we discussed it and decided to start trying, all our friends have had such a hard time (none of us are that young anymore) we expected it to take us a couple of months at least. That said we are ecstatic! So we've been putting all our people search knowledge to a new use or cause I guess you could say. we've been name searching... Each week we choose a new girls and boys name, live with them for a week, and see if we still like it. So far none have made it, unfortunately. But we still have 8 months to go, so loads of time! Before I sign off today, I want to let you all know about some great new people search sites I found: Search People and People Finder And really last thing, check out this cool lists site, its called Giant Lists - Waste Your Day this is my favorite list at the moment, I won't have much time to waste days away when the baby comes, probably why I find this one so funny!

Before I sign off today, I want to let you all know about some great new people search sites I found: Search People and People Finder And really last thing, check out this cool lists site, its called Giant Lists - Waste Your Day this is my favorite list at the moment, I won’t have much time to waste days away when the baby comes, probably why I find this one so funny!
